Tradesmen brothers to relaunch AWC

The Alberta Whisky Cake is making a comeback, under the attention of two devoted brothers determined to continue their late mother’s legacy.

After the unexpected death of Kamla McGonigal last September, her signature cakes were discontinued, leaving loyal customers wondering if they’d ever see or taste them again.

Now, her sons, Ryan and Jager McGonigal — a welder and heavy-duty mechanic by trade, respectively — are stepping up to revive the business next month; ready to learn and keep their mother’s vision alive.
